NGOs CO-ORDINATION BOARD

RECRUITMENT OF ADMINISTRATION OFFICERS – 2 POSITIONS

NGOs CO-ORDINATION BOARD is a State Corporation established under Section 3 of the NGOs Co-ordination Act, 1990. The Board is a relatively busy State Corporation that is charged with the mandate of Regulating the Charitable Sector in Kenya. The Board is seeking to recruit two (2) suitably qualified candidate for the position of Administration Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities and shall report to Human Resource and Administration Manager:-
• Monitoring and maintaining office equipment, and order replacement of supplies as needed;
• Supporting department managers, staff, and CEO;
• Organizing , equipping and ensure cleanliness of the organizations board room;
• Coordinating fueling, repair and cleaning of the board vehicles;
• Supervise the general cleaning of the organization;
• Preparing travel arrangements for office staff;
• Coordinating maintenance issues for the organization;
• Organizing functions and social events for the Board;
• Monitoring incoming and outgoing mail.

Requirements and Qualifications
• Bachelors degree in Business management, Business Administration, or any other related field
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel);
• Able to perform clerical duties, maintaining files and confidential information, organizing documents as needed
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time management skills; able to prioritize
• Motivated to take on additional projects and solve problems
• Able to organize and manage large amounts of files, tasks, schedules, and information
• Self-directed and able to work without supervision
• Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
• Comfortable in both a leadership and team-player role, manages team members, leads assistant meetings, and supervises when needed
• Prior experience as office assistant, office administrator, or handling administrative responsibilities in a related field
• Should be able to work in any of our 47 counties.

RECRUITMENT OF LEGAL OFFICERS – 2 POSITIONS

NGOs CO-ORDINATION BOARD is a State Corporation established under Section 3 of the NGOs Co-ordination Act, 1990. The Board is a relatively busy State Corporation that is charged with the mandate of Regulating the Charitable Sector in Kenya. The Board is seeking to recruit two (2) suitably qualified candidates for the positions of Legal Officers.

Duties and Responsibilities and shall report to Legal Affairs Manager:-
• Assist in instituting and defending legal suits on behalf of the Board and ensure legal strategies are fully aligned with priorities of the organization through offering professional advice
• Conduct legal research on regulation of charities
• Advise on key policy issues affecting the organization
• Manage legal costs through the use of cost tools and promote a culture of cost efficiency and control
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements
• Advise Management on the relevant legislation including the Constitution of Kenya, sector regulation, taxation, Environmental Laws, and Labor laws and assisting in regulatory and corporate communications
• Document administrative guidelines and procedures
• Advice on and deal with legal correspondence
• Prepare contracts and any other legal documents
• Perform any other duties as may be required by the organization

Requirements and Qualifications
• Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B) from a recognized University
• Post graduate diploma from KSL will be an added advantage
• Minimum 2 years experience as a legal practitioner in the charity sector
• Should have good understanding of charity law
• Should have knowledge in criminal and civil litigation and the Kenyan Justice system
• Should have ability to undertake legal research and promote sound legal opinions
• Demonstrate initiative and ability to deliver under strict deadlines
• Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Must have integrity and be able to work under minimal supervision
• Should be willing to work flexible hours
• Should have at least 2 years work experience in a busy & professional organization
• Should have strong analytical and organizational skills
• Should be computer literate and familiar with standard office computer applications
• Must meet the requirements of chapter 6 of the constitution of Kenya, 2010
